i know this is unrelated to it, but it reminds me of the death of Meriwether Lewis's death? wether it was suicide or murder? i had to write and essay on it in class before school ended and it really peaked my interest for a history assignment. personally i believe it was murder because there's no way he could've shot him self twice in the head with gun that made tennis ball wholes in things up close.

interesting how van gogh is given the "tortured artist" stereotype when his best paintings came out of a time when he was mentally healing. one of his most famous paintings came from a time of great joy when his nephew was born. sad how his mental troubles are romanticized when instead his healing could be admired. even more tragic if in fact the suicide theory was ran with to further this toxic narrative of mental illness being a spectacle when it makes some intriguing art

Vincent was depressed his entire life, he ingested yellow paint hoping it would make him happy. There are some signs that he may have been in the autistic spectrum and or showed signs of schizophrenia as well. Anyway, he was a brilliant artist, my favorite If i may add, a man who died without knowing how ahead of time he was and how appreciated he would one day be. Vincent was the one person who always felt too much or nothing at all, his paints are filled with emotion and you can almost feel what he felt while painting. His death was a great loss and if given the chance, I would do anything to meet him.

The idea that suffering artists are better artists is horrible. Vincent created sime of his best paintings after making the choice to get better! He admitted himself to a psychiatric hospital and he was trying to become healthy! We need to stop romanticizing his mental illness
